Supplement Review: Muscle Pharm Combat, Chocolate Peanut Butter

Lately I've been adding supplements to my training regimen (I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor) and recently I found Muscle Pharm products. I've just finished the second of two of the 4 pound tubs of Muscle Pharm's Chocolate Peanut Butter protein powder and I'll never try anything else, ever. So to ensure this blog post will not be eerily similar to an ad or a press release or whatever, (I'm certainly not being paid for this, unfortunately) I thought I'd talk about it like I would to anyone I know. Because I literally think that everyone I know could benefit from either replacing something in their diet with this product, or adding it to their daily intake.
First, the taste. If you don't like the taste of something, even if it has great benefits, it's not fun to ingest and you start to actively dread consuming it. It's happened to me with many things in the past, particularly when making diet changes. Fortunately, the chocolate peanut butter is quite pleasant, to the point I look forward to the taste. Keep in mind, this is when mixing Combat with water! Simply adding one scoop to 8 oz of water, you get a delicious "milkshake" that will not make you a fat piece of crap. Every morning, my wife and I both have one. She asks for it if I'm not making it in a timeframe she approves of :)
I generally have 3 shakes a day. The powder mixes very well with water only, in a 'shaker' portable drink container, however I use a blender in the morning when I'm making a shake for both myself and my wife, just due to volume. As Combat is a perfect blend of quick, medium, and slow-release protein ingredients, it's a perfect pre-bed 'meal' or midnight snack. There's only 1 gram of sugar. I used to have a bowl (or 2 or 3) of cereal nearly every night before bed, as I'm generally hungry a couple hours after dinner. Cereal is delicious, but it does not help you get rid of those last few belly pounds. Combat is also perfect to have first thing in the morning, with the extended effects of it's complex nutrition. While many people like to have some protein source shortly after working out, I do not use Combat for this. I actually take Muscle Pharm's Assault pre-workout, and Muscle Pharm's Re-Con immediately after my workout, while still at the gym (or wherever I'm exercising). I think the age old "get some protein within 20 minutes of working out" is quite antiquated, particularly with the combination of supplements I'm using. So once right when I get up, once randomly during the day if I get a hunger twinge, and once before bed.
Even if you do not work out at all, and have a goal of changing your eating habits to live a longer, healthier life, you should include Combat, or it should replace or augment a meal. With 24 grams of protein per serving (48% of a 2,000 calorie diet) it's a must for most Americans, as we do not get enough protein in our diets. If you can consciously replace one bad food item per day with a delicious chocolate peanut butter shake, why not?? They are actually quite cheap overall as well, averaging about .80 cents per shake. The scientists behind the Combat blend even added digestive enzymes, I can say my stomach is a lot less queasy than it has been in the past from foods.
My strength in the gym, physical appearance, and "wife reaction" have all been great after my switch to Combat. As I take two other Muscle Pharm supplements I cannot attribute all of my positive results to Combat- I can however, easily say my daily nutrition has vastly improved since adding this to my diet. It also has me focusing on other portions of my nutrition, to both ensure I'm getting a balanced diet for my specific needs, as well as trying to make other good choices as well.
